Laura Niculescu was born in 1993 in Bucharest, Romania. She works and lives in Bucharest.
Niculescu studied at National University of Arts in Bucharest, Romania, and she received a BFA in Graphic Arts in 2013 and an MFA in Painting in 2018.
Niculescu exhibited her artworks in many group shows nationally and internationally and she is the recipient of numerous awards, notably being The British Institution Awards for Students, awarded by The British Institution at Royal Academy of Arts, Summer Exhibition, London, England, 2017.
In 2022 her artwork was Longlisted at Aesthetica Art Prize, London and her artworks were published in Future Now Anthology Book. In 2018 her artworks were also Selected in the first stage of judging at Aesthetica Art Prize. In the same year she was a finalist of The Teodor Moraru Grant.
Niculescu’s artworks were exhibited in many group exhibitions as Five Plus Art Gallery, Vienna, Austria; IMO Gallery, Poland; The National Museum of Art of Romania, Quadro Gallery, Cluj-Napoca, Romania; Royal Academy of Arts, London, England, etc.
The artist opened her first solo exhibition Less is more in 2020 at Arthalle Gallery, Bucharest, Romania, curated by Diana Andrei.
