Less is More
This project began in 2016 and remains active today, serving as a continuous, multi-year exploration of Less is more theme. By extending this research over a span of years, I aim to uncover deeper layers of the subject and document its transformation.
My works represent spaces that originate visually from the physical world but carry metaphoric visual references toward a spiritual, authentic, and true dimension. This realm no longer fully adheres to the laws of physics; rather, it is a conscious game of breaking classical rules by introducing profound contradictions. The compositions employ a classical linear perspective with multiple vanishing points, structurally suggested through horizontal registers of lines.
The centers of interest—vertical rectangles and their accompanying oblique, elevated, fixed, and somewhat distant auxiliary structures—are treated in most cases through an inverse perspective. This intentional, assumed gesture initially appears to contradict classical rules, yet it contains a deep conceptual significance achieved through a highly simplified and coherent visual vocabulary. These vertical rectangles, despite being placed in the distance, are emphasized by stark contrasts of black and white or dark tones on light backgrounds, serving visually and conceptually as an Axis Mundi.
I believe that art is true Art when it points toward the Truth, which is unique and eternal. Therefore, an art that channels its efforts into speaking about and showing the Truth becomes everlasting, continuing to resonate deeply with individuals who seek honesty across centuries. Through my geometric constructions and structured line registers, I create a visual and conceptual path ascending from the base toward the heights, where the rectangles reign enveloped in light, balanced through subtle color grays and the raw canvas white on a square format.
The Less is More series stems from a commitment to strip away unnecessary details, seeking a sacred, monumental liberation and purification of form. My early works were structurally denser and compositionally complex; however, I deliberately discarded that excess to pursue purely the intellectual essence and immediate impact of the message. This approach does not represent mere decorative minimalism, but a rigorous reduction to fundamental ethical, spiritual, and intellectual coordinates, conveying ultimate stillness, airy space, and static compositions where visual force signals that something profound is about to happen.
